Here in pictures is a little of the history of the right to get the votes for women including marches, death, a world war and finally in december 1918 after helping the country to victory alongside working class men UNIVERSAL SUFFERAGE was granted as a reward. This meant men under 30 and working class plus women could vote for the first time.
It’s a strange thought that it was OK to go and die for your country at a very young age but you were not eligible to vote for the government that sent you there.
Well thanks to these very brave men and women of then – we have that right today. Please don’t let what they did be in vain. Excercise your right to vote.
And whilst it is your choice whether you abstain or not just remember that should you abstain from voting – if you then do not like the results or feel the need to moan about any consequences or polices of the next government – if you DID decide to abstain then you by doing so FORFEIT your right to complain – as this your chance now by voting
