Remember The Trees

·

·

Do you remember the trees, fields and streams
Peaceful and tranquil like our dreams.

Recall the buzzing Bumble Bees, wild flowers and Butterflies
Walking through woodland at our ease.

Waterfalls and Heather all around
Buttercups and Daisies on the ground.

Do you remember your first car.
How it enabled you to travel far.

Picknicks with flasks of tea and Bread and Jam
A few years later we’re delayed by  less sweet kind of Jam.

Motorways cut down our journey time
What happened to the earth some see as crimes.

Tarmac and concrete spread like a disease
Making big business out of felling trees.

Our air is made pure by these spreading branches.
That prevent landslides and avelanches.

A desert can be made fertile in forty years it’s said
But not if Mr Money shakes his head.

Do you remember when the last tree fell?
It was so long ago it’s hard to tell.

I sit here in 2325 in my oxygen bubble
Sad our ancestors didn’t cause enough trouble.

My kids never played in a leafy Park
When did our world become do dark?

If i could warn 21st century man
Save our forests do what you can.
